Banksy is one of the world’s best known Graffiti artists. No one knows who he really is or what he looks like.
Is Graffiti a sign of decline in society or true art?

I just love this Banksy picture.
My first thought (without analyzing it to death) was that “no, it doesn’t seem like a decline.” It seems like the need for artistic expression that is in every person (even if that person doesn’t know it) is finding an outlet on walls and unexpected places. Don’t we believe art is healing and communicative and poetic and enriching? So if it is found wherever it’s found, then I say, “great!” Just think back to the caves in France and what that must have been like to depict one’s life on the walls. I wonder if the ones who did that were considered the fine artists of the day or if such a project was open to whomever felt like doing it? O.K. I’m done. Liddy
